BIOTEC Board Leads Delegation to Explore NSTDA’s Cutting-Edge Research in Functional Foods, Herbal Innovation, and Precision Medicine – Reinforcing Thailand’s Vision to Become a Medical Hub

The National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), in collaboration with the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), welcomed an esteemed delegation led by Dr. Kamon Chaisit, Executive Board Member of BIOTEC. The visit aimed to showcase Thailand’s capabilities in advanced health innovation, particularly in the areas of functional food platforms (FoodSERP), high-value herbal extraction, and precision medicine services.
Joining the visit were representatives from several key organizations including:
Board of Investment (BOI), led by Mr. Suttikate Tadpitakkul, Deputy Secretary-General of the BOI and Member of the National Science and Technology Development Board;
Bumrungrad International Hospital, led by Dr. Athirat Jarukitpipat, CEO;
Chulabhorn International College of Medicine, Thammasat University, led by Prof. Dr. Rattakorn Wilaiwan, Gastroenterology Unit;
Graduate students in the Translational Biomedical Science and Innovation Program;
Col. Dr. Songsuda Khwanpracha, Secretary of the Thai Armed Forces Housewives Association;
Druggist Yodchai Tangjaideeborisut, Secretary-General of the Biotechnology Industry Group, Federation of Thai Industries.
The group was received by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaowalee Attalung, Director of BIOTEC, and Dr. Kobkul Laoteng, Deputy Director for Biotech Industry R&D, along with NSTDA research team members who presented the latest advancements across several key research platforms at Thailand Science Park.
