Thailand–Guangdong Strengthen Collaboration in Medical Biotechnology to Advance ATMP and API Innovation
Dr. Yodchai Tangjaidee, Pharm.D., Secretary of the Biotechnology Industry Cluster of the The Federation of Thai Industries and Chief Executive Officer of Food Matrix Global Co., Ltd., participated in a study visit program aimed at strengthening cooperation in medical biotechnology between Thailand and Guangdong Province, People’s Republic of China, held from March 4–11, 2026.
The program was organized to foster collaboration between industry leaders, research institutions, and biotechnology enterprises from both countries. The initiative focuses on exchanging knowledge, technologies, and development strategies in the rapidly growing field of Medical Biotechnology, particularly in Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API)—two critical pillars in the future of pharmaceutical innovation and advanced medical treatment.
During the visit, delegates from Thailand had the opportunity to explore leading biotechnology companies, research centers, and innovation hubs in Guangdong Province. The study tour provided valuable insights into the region’s dynamic biotechnology ecosystem while promoting potential partnerships in research, investment, and technology development.
This collaboration represents another important step in strengthening Thailand’s biotechnology industry on the global stage, while supporting the advancement of healthcare innovation, improving quality of life, and enhancing the competitiveness of the life sciences sector across Asia.
